Description


Place: Ancient monastery of the XIV century by the rich in history dressed with impalpable silks and ornamental paintings surrounded by 6 hectares of parkland.  The monastery is located near the city of Siena and is completely immersed in the characteristic landscape of the Tuscan countryside, among vineyards and olive trees

History:

  • The complex was built in 1314 with funds donated by Cardinal as a place designed for meditation and prayer.
  • In the sixteenth century involved in the fierce war between Spain and the Emperor Charles V of France Henry II.
  • Partly destroyed but still intact in its charm, he had a quiet life until 1782 when the Grand Duke of Tuscany Leopold II decided to remove the monks cells and sell them to private.
  • Became a private residence in the late eighteenth century, the house has had several changes of ownership until, in the second half of the twentieth century the new owner, fell in love with the majestic charm but now decaying villa, decided to restore its splendor with exceptional renovations.

 

Conditions: Completely refurbished in 2005 and converted into a stylish resort. All works are carried out in full respect of the local tradition of craftsmanship.
