History: The castle is one of the lookout towers built to defend Todi. From the soaring tower of six levels, the castle, which was guarded by soldiers from the city during the war, kept watch over the river Tiber, signaling the possible approach of the troops of the enemy city along the banks of the river below. Then a shot was fired, a fire lit, or waving flags to warn of impending danger the people of the country. Military men stationed in the castle came to engage in battle or remain in the fortress to deter attacks on the city walls. The castle, a more extended time, it was surrounded by walls. Nowadays only the male and the guards are to form a massive and martial silhouette. With a 360 ° view overlooking the Umbrian countryside, the beautiful town of Todi dominates about two kilometers away as the crow flies.
