In Italy there is a new TAC that "photographs" the coronary arteries and has given excellent results in the diagnosis and follow-up of cardiovascular disease.
The Coronary CTA is a new cutting-edge technology, low-dose x-ray, which is revolutionizing the diagnosis of ischemic heart disease. The accuracy of CT in excluding coronary artery disease is very high and approaches 100%. In addition, the CT does not just study the possible obstruction of the coronary lumen but also allows you to evaluate the walls and to identify atherosclerotic plaques from the earliest stages; this allows to improve the prediction of cardiovascular risk and, consequently, help people identify an intensive medical therapy can prevent heart attacks.
It does not require the introduction of catheters or the patient's hospitalization.
The examination gives excellent results both in patients with cardiac disease in both patients who have a so-called "low-intermediate risk of cardiovascular disease".
