Description
Altitude: 350 mt. above sea level.
Building: Age-old Mill Stone with Dovecote Tower, dating from 1600, one of the few that still exist. Probably, originally the Dovecote Tower stood isolated, and at its base was made the pressing of the olives with stone mills. Only later, around 300 years ago, they huddled other parts: the remaining structure of the Mill, a stable and the farmer's house.
Surface covered: 300 smq. approx.
Period of construction: 1600.
Composed by:
- Ground floor: entrance hall (double height)with gallery and iron staircase that allows access to the upper floors, kitchen with vaulted brick barrel (converted from an old mill stone vaulted room), living room of 80 square meters with fireplace, covered patio of 100 square meters.
- First floor: entrance from external staircase, living room, master bedroom with bathroom, 2 double bedrooms, bathroom.
- Second floor (Tower): bedroom.
- Third floor (Tower): bedroom with bathroom.
Finishes:
- Traditional stone masonry;
- Terracotta floors;
- Ceilings with wooden beams and terracotta tiles;
- Local stone.
Condition: Completely renovated in 2008. The restoration and consolidation of the structural parts of the Mill has been made in respect of all the canons of construction period. The Dovecote Tower square has been restored and brought back as far as possible, close to its original state and has been restored battlements that surrounds the top of the tower, which served to lay the doves to their arrival or their departure from the tower.
